In this latest Social Library edition, we're highlighting five more innovative programs from libraries we follow on Facebook. From a Noon Year celebration to a blood pressure monitoring station, and from a bar book club to a women veteran's tea, these unique approaches to serving patron needs and interests are sure to inspire. If you'd like to see your library featured in an upcoming edition, please let us know via [email protected] or find us on Facebook.

  • Ilsley Public Library in Vermont hosted an all-ages Happy Noon Year 2019 celebration this year and the photos are fantastic. "If you're too young to stay up to midnight, you can always join us for Happy Noon Year! Facepainting thanks to Renee, decorating fancy hats, story time with Chris, and photos of Times Square with Kurt. Thanks Tricia for pulling it all together!"
  • Dunham Public Library in New York hosts a BYOBook Book Club at Stockdale's Bar and Grill. The library and Stockdale's collaborate to host a No Pressure, No Guilt, No Assigned Reading, Casual Discussion, book club, on the 1st Wednesday of each month. Check out more book-related programming ideas in this WebJunction webinar, Beyond Book Groups: Fun Library Programs for Adult Readers.

"Please stop in and utilize the many resources that have been provided. You can learn about ways to lower your blood pressure, diet changes, and a pocket tracker for you to record your blood pressure."
