Tune your website with Plinkit
Currently a cooperative effort of four Illinois regional library systems (ALS, LCLS, RPLS and SHLS), *Illinois Plinkit (Public Library Interface Kit) seeks to make developing and maintaining interactive websites easier for Illinois libraries, particularly those with older, static websites or no website at all.
The project uses customizable templates and software originally developed for public libraries in Oregon. Since the Illinois project is multitype, school, special, academic, and public libraries are welcome to participate. Each participating system has committed to bring 15 libraries up on Plinkit this year and provides training on the software. The project hopes to expand in the next year by adding another 60+ libraries, expanding to schools, and including additional library systems (DLS, LTLS, MLS and PALS)
Illinois Plinkit Project is an LSTA project. Funding for this grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library (ISL), a Division of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), under the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA)
