Public Library Per Capita
Improving and Increasing Library Services
Equalization Grants have been established to help public libraries which have a low library tax base. In providing up to $4.25 per person served, these grants help ensure a minimum level of funding for library services.
Public Library Per Capita Grants help public libraries improve and increase library services to their service areas. A grant amount of up to $1.25 per person served is made available to public libraries.
Illinois Public Library Per Capita and Equalization Aid Grants:
- Available to public libraries that are members of a regional library system.
- Grants based upon a formula of approximately $1.25 per capita.
- Grant funds are used to support appropriate activities as listed in the application.
- State funded.
