Transforming Library Spaces

From May 2013 – June 2014, WebJunction partnered with public libraries in Washington state to explore practical and adaptable solutions for public library space transformation. This exploration was made possible by funding from the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, and was brought to life by active public library engagement in focus groups, webinars and space conversions at two public libraries. The Bellingham Public Library and the Everson Branch of the Whatcom County Public Library System were selected to work with WebJunction as pilot locations for community-driven space transformation.

The resulting resources include a new, free planning guide for libraries to consider when transforming their spaces, case studies from the participating libraries and webinar archives.
