Our next steps: Insights from the WebJunction experience survey

We recently shared the outcomes of our 2025 WebJunction experience survey—thank you to all who participated! Every two years, we ask for feedback on what WebJunction offers so we can better understand your challenges, priorities, and how we can better meet your needs and interests. Your feedback helps us shape our programs and resources to better meet your needs.
Here, we’ll share how we’re using what we learned from you to plan what’s next for WebJunction.
What's next for WebJunction: Responding to feedback
We're using your feedback to plan for the future. Here’s what we’re focusing on based on the survey results:
- Broader content coverage: We’re working on expanding resources for technical services, behind-the-scenes roles, and a wider array of library types. Our new LiFT course series is a good example of content that is relevant to a variety of library roles and types, including academic and school libraries.
- Programming for diverse communities: You’ve asked for more content focused on children, teens, and underrepresented groups.
- Updated and advanced content: Survey respondents indicated they would like to see us refresh older webinars and courses and create more intermediate and advanced-level content for experienced staff. One respondent specifically suggested:
“Please update older content, especially in technology and cataloging.”
We have already started reviewing and weeding our course catalog for out-of-date content to address this need.
- More self-paced options: We’re exploring how to offer more of the flexible self-paced learning options you say you love.
- Improved navigation and functionality: We learned that navigating our website could be easier. Suggestions included improved search functionality, the ability to sort courses by year or newest to oldest, and a way to mark completed courses in our catalog. One respondent noted:
“It’s sometimes hard to find what I’m looking for—improved navigation would help.”
More upgrades are scheduled for our learning management system, which will improve discovery and usability.
