Karen de la O Medina

Karen joined the WebJunction team in 2021 as the Senior Project Coordinator for Supporting Library Responses to the Opioid Crisis. Karen’s background roots itself in public health, with 5+ years of experience in substance misuse prevention, and coalition and capacity building. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is also a recipient of the National Chairman’s Award and believes capacity-building and access to action-driven resources can set communities up for sustainable change. While new to the library-world, Karen recognizes the importance libraries play in responding to the opioid crisis and the impact they have on healthy communities around the nation.
