Extended Racial Equity Resource Guide for Libraries
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) is among the largest philanthropic foundations in the United States, and in 2010, WKKF launched America Healing, which they describe as "an effort to put structural inequality behind us by first putting it squarely in front of us—understanding it, acknowledging it and joining together to change it." Since then, the foundation has funded several hundred of organizations advancing racial equity and has convened four conferences on race and racial equity. In fact, they have recently announced new initiatives in this area that you can explore on their website.
In 2015, they created the customizable Racial Equity Resource Guide. The guide aggregates media, research and organizations and can be built in nearly infinite ways. Feel free to build your own, however, we have built the "Extended Racial Equity Resource Guide for Libraries" to save you some time! The guide contains a list of organizations that could be potential partners, sources of background information, and examples of solid programs. It also includes a wide spectrum of resources from videos and reading recommendations to guides and toolkits for reference.
