About Me:
I began my professional career as a teacher and spent 13 years in K-6 classrooms, teaching mainly multiage grades. I was a co-founder of an Expeditionary Learning charter school in Boise, where I also taught. I received my National Board of Professional Teaching Standards certificate as a Middle Childhood-Generalist master teacher, and earned a Master's degree in Education-Curriculum and Instruction. I have presented at many national and local conferences and to professional organizations, sharing best practices in education and school reform. I then left the classroom and worked as an instructional coach in the area of cognitively-guided mathematics instruction, and also worked one-on-one with students who have learning disabilities in reading and math. I am now enjoying a new position as a projects coordinator with the ICFL, helping to develop and coordinate early literacy outreach programs through Idaho libraries.
