Affiliations: WebJunction,Idaho,Learning & Support Ctr,Spanish Language Outreach Program
About Me/Bio: As Networking Consultant I focus on resource sharing, consulting with library consortia, and developing statewide library programs. I coordinate Libraries Linking Idaho (LiLI) a collaborative program of the Idaho library community and the Idaho Commission for Libraries. The foundation of LiLI is the database program, through which Idahoans have access to a suite of full-text databases. Since 2001, the LiLI program has grown to include a statewide library catalog and downloadable audiobooks for Idaho residents, and a low-cost option for access to interlibrary loan and cataloging tools for libraries.
I believe strongly in professional development and have been active in ALA since 1993 and the Idaho Library Association since arriving in Idaho. At present, I am a member of the Board of the Idaho Library Association and Idaho’s Chapter Councilor to ALA. In addition to ALA Council duties, I am a member of ASCLA’s Interlibrary Cooperation and Networking section, RUSA STARS, and the ALA Chapter Relations Committee. I have served on the Rethinking Resource Sharing initiative Steering Committee since its origination, and am currently the Chair of the Rethinking Resource Sharing Policies Committee, which is jointly housed within the initiative and RUSA STARS.
While professional development activities keep me busy, be assured that I have a life outside of library work. Being in Idaho makes that especially easy. Since moving to Idaho, I have taken up hiking, snowshoeing, golfing, and I even have a garden! If you are looking for me on the weekend, I am likely roaming around Boise on my bike--a bright blue cruiser!

About Me/Bio: I'm a member of the Web Content Team of the Johnson County Library. We're responsible for the look, feel and content of the Library's online presence. I oversee the children's and teens' sites, as well as contributing to various aspects of our main site. I also work on the reference desk and work with Youth and Teen Services on services, programming and promotions.
I'm a big believer in Do-It-Yourself in libraries. I think open source software and web applications are the future. Unconferences and other grassroots alternatives to standard conferences are also of growing importance and value. I love new gadgets, but think it's crucial to get the cost and availability down, to help bridge the digital divide.
Most importantly, I think libraries are sexy and fun, and we should all enjoy what we do. It's as important to play as it is to work, and all library employees should have time to play and experiment with new things.

About Me/Bio: I live in a town of 351 people at an elevation of 5797 feet, which seems to me to be about the right population:elevation ratio. I hope some day to keep chickens in my yard, but for now I just have two cats in the house. I enjoy reading, hiking, and messing around with computers.

I joined WebJunction because I like the mission - to provide a community where library and information professionals can connect, create, and learn.
