About Me: Susan Pieper is a certified Ohio public librarian and has been the director of the Paulding County Carnegie Library since 1997. A graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, she received her Masters Degree in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She has worked in the library profession since 1984. Her library experience includes the duties of youth services consultant for a twenty-one county northwest Ohio regional library system and the bookmobile librarian for the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library in Alabama. Susan was elected as an American Library Association Councilor-At-Large in 2007. She was elected to the Executive Board of the Public Library Association in 2008 and serves as an Ex Officio Board Member for the Association for Rural and Small Libraries. She has been a popular speaker at regional, state and national conferences since 1987. In 2009 Susan was selected by the U.S. Department of State to travel to Romania to speak about rural libraries. She will be in Romania for a week in early October.
