WebPages in Dynix...
7:32 PM EST 11/22/05
We are getting close to having an Internet setup which will allow us to finally have a "library webpage" available for the general public. (For a variety of reasons - it has always been "in house only") I mentioned to my library director that we ought to see about getting Dreamweaver, Frontpage, or something similar so that when we do have the Internet connection we can start working on a webpage. She said that when we switched over the the Dynix Horizon ILS system - that a webpage setup was "built in" as a part of Dynix and that all the web design you need - can be done inside the Dynix system? I was under the impression that Dynix will INTERFACE with the webpage but you have to have some way of creating the original webpage to begin with. Instead of playing phone tag for a week with the Dynix folks, I thought I might get better results if I started by asking here. SO...
I am wondering if anyone has done that? How much flexibility do you have with the design of the pages themselves? Can you add buttons, colors, links to databases, etc etc? We don't want a SUPER busy webpage but we would like to be able to "jazz it up" a bit.
Thanks in advance!
