Question About Blogs
9:03 AM EDT 9/13/04
I'm beginning to experiment with the idea of a weblog, first at home and then to try to get our library interested. To that end, I have a question. For those of you who are "blogging", what software or service do you use? I am experimenting witn Movabletype, but that thing is a bear to get installed properly.
So, enlighten me of wise ones? How do you publish your blogs?

Re: Question About Blogs

as a reply to Chrystie Hill.
Well, actually, not the first one....supposing I ever get the time to actually get on it! This one will probably be more political/current events in nature. In order to keep the spirit of peace and friendliness here, I won't say on which side of the political fence I lean!
Taat being said, if I get to where this looks plausible, I may try to convert part of our library web page to a blog format. I think that things like our Teen Page and Announcements would be good blogging material. Of course, I would want need to get the librarians on board and involved.
I've considered using some of the free services, but I already pay for my own hosting space, so I deceded to try out Moveabletype. It is complicated to get installed on my webserver, but from what everyone tells me, it is the gold standard on blogging. Also, I don't want to burden anyone who might visit with the inevitable ads that go along with free sites.
In any case, I will keep you all informed as I make progress.
