Here's how to customize your tool bar:

  1. Right click anywhere on the tool bar.

  2. Go to Customize

Here you can pick which tool bars are viewable, but you can also choose specific command buttons.

  1. Click on the Commands tab.

There are many commands to choose from, some of which are the standard options already available on the toolbar.

  1. Click on a Category in the left side of the dialog box.

  2. Scroll down the Commands in the right side of the dialog box to see the buttons available for each Category.

  3. To add the command to your toolbar, click and drag the command to the location where you want it to appear on the tool bar.

Here are some of my favorite commands to add:

  • Click on View in Categories

Scroll down to the bottom of the list to the Back and Forward commands. These two commands allow you to quickly navigate between open pages while you edit them.

  • Click on Table in Categories

Scroll down to Insert Row and Insert Column. These commands are very handy when working with tables. I also added the Select Table command so that I can quickly select an entire table if I want to delete, move or copy it.

Ok, I added one I don't want. How do I get rid of it?

There is a little drop down arrow at the end of each toolbar.

  1. Click on the drop down arrow and then on Add or Remove Buttons.
You'll see a list of all the buttons you have on your toolbar with check marks next to those that are currently active.

  2. Uncheck the check box, and the command button is removed immediately.
