Electronic Newsletter

Hi. I'm not quite sure this query belongs in this particular category. Please redirect it if need be.
I'm looking into establishing an electronic newletter for my public library. It could then be emailed to our patrons who choose to recieve it. Currently I make a monthly newsletter on Microsoft Publisher and distribute printed copies.
I know that this could be done in a text format.
I'm looked into sending a newletter in HTML format. Or at least a link to the latest newletter that would be posted on our site.
Does anyone here make electronic newsletters?
What software do you use?
Is there a good way to transfer Publisher files?
I've also started looking into library blogs. WebJunction has been very useful in that regard.
Thanks in advance

Check out

over at TechSoup. There are a number of tips, tricks, and vendors (with prices - some for nonprofits) listed in this thread. I hope this helps!

Our newsletter is done in Microsoft Publisher, but using Adobe Acrobat Elements is saved as a .pdf which enables it to be easily attached to an email that anyone can open.
Our email subscriber list is a Google Group which people can easily subscribe or unsubscribe to; When a message needs to be sent, one email is sent to the Google Group email address and everyone who has joined the group gets the email!
We have been doing this since October of 2006 and it takes almost no time to manage!

I agree, converting to .pdf and sending by email is the most effective route. Recipients can save to their computer or print if they wish to keep and use for reference.
