Unable to see Floppy drive (or anything else for that matter)

We have computers set up using the PAComputing tool, and among a few problems we are dealing with is the fact that when you are logged in as one of the locked down users, and go to say, yahoo mail, and try to attach something, perhaps from a floppy drive, you cannot see anything when you browse except for recent and desktop. That makes it a little hard for the customers to attach files, obviously.
I checked in poledit and nothing is set there that I can tell would cause this, does anyone have suggestions?
