Spanish Immersion courses in Guatemala
3:37 PM EST 11/23/04
Hi all,

First of all, it was wonderful to meet everyone. I hope everyone found the
institute as helpful and informative as I did.

Second, of all, if you have not heard of Probigua please check out their website. They offer Spanish language classes (usually one on one) in Antigua, Guatemala at incredibly wonderful prices. The best thing is they use the profits to support public libraries in Guatemala. I did a week long class about 2 years ago and had a wonderful teacher and wonderful home stay experience.
(cost was about $150 for classes, lodging and food for the week). While I was there, the students and teachers help move about 500 books into a new community library, the 22nd library Probigua had funded.

So if you know anyone that is interesting in brushing up on their Spanish speaking skills, have them check out Probigua, http://probigua.conexion.com/

Thanks!
Ross

This is a great addition Ross, thank you. Two other WJ members (who I have a feeling you may know already! emoticon) did a similar program last year together: sigurdis (max anderson) and bkhough (brenda hough). They are moderators on All Aboard, and I'm sure they'd be happy to answer questions or chat with you about their experiences.

And from what I hear .. Brenda has a snake story that rivals the shark story any day!!

The Director of this successful program PROBIGUA,
Rigoberto Zamora Charuc may be attending ALA Annual Conference in Chicago next June.

Please let me know if you're interested to meet him.
