An interesting opening/saving problem

On one of our training computers, it seems to be a problem now that in any Office Application, when you try to go to file -> open or file -> save as -- and the select the drop down menu to the drive you want to open or save into, the moment you press that button, the program exits itself out, bypassing the "do you want to save changes".
I logged in under the administrative account and it doesn't seem to have the same problem. Ran some virus scans, quarantined a few items, but still does it under the training account.
I am guessing there is a problem with the registery in the training account but can't really seem to pinpoint it. Any ideas?
