Graphics editing freeware
3:02 PM EDT 6/20/04
Hi,

Does anyone know of a free graphics editing program that's pretty good? I am familiar with some not-free programs (PhotoShop, etc), but am wondering if there's a free download out there that anyone has tried.

Thank you!

Yes, forgot about Gimp - it is available for Windows - www.gimp.org.

But it is more like using Photoshop in that there is a steep learning curve.

Brenda - what do you want it to do? Photo retouching? Painting? Basic resizing, color balance, brightness contrast? I don't know of anything that is free, easy to use and can do all of the above.

There is also Irfanview, which is really more of a viewer, but can do some basic things.

I know the Linux folks use Gimp, but I am not sure it is available for Windows. One place to look for software is tucows.com. Most of it is shareware, but they also have some freeware stuff in many different categories.
