need space on C drive
5:44 PM EDT 6/20/07
I am getting some problems on our server (Server 2003); the Symantec antivirus which protects all the network is disabled. I think the problem is that the C drive has too little space. It is about 18 gigabytes but had only about 800 mg free. I would like to move some software to another drive which has lots of room, but I don't know what has to remain on the C drive--. I would like to know what absolutely cannot be moved. Can you help, please?

Thank you for your attention. This server contains the active directory and is the domain name server. It sends out the antivirus updates and runs Athena to control our collection and circulation, etc. I will try to attach a screen shot of our drives and the folders on C. I hope it works! I did delete some temporary files and evidently have enough space to run the Anti-virus updates. I don't know how long that will last. Thanks for any direction. Ann

I don't think my screen shots were visible. Here is the information:
C Local Disk total 8.54 GB Free 684 MB D Local Disk total 17.1 GB Free 16.2 GB F: Local Disk total 3.99 GB Free 1.64 GB G Local Disk total 17.1 GB Free 15.0 GB New Volume H: Local Disk total 4.53 GB Free 3.04 GB
As you see there is much space on other drives but I don't know what can be moved.
Here are the contents of of C: Inetpub, Multimedia Files, profiles, Program Files, TEMP, WINNT, wmpub (all of these are folders), PkgClnup.log, products, xml.
If you need the contents of the folders, I can send that later.
Thank you for looking at this and any help.

Ann-
Sorry, it was actually ALA that distracted me from getting back to you. So it doesn't look like you have much extra on that drive. I think
Inetpub could certainly be moved, but I doubt there is much there. I see that you don't have a Documents and Settings - I assume that must be somewhere else. What exactly is in the Profiles folder, and how big is it? If that does contain profiles, what kind of profiles are they - public access? Or staff?
You have a lot of free space all together, it would be nice to combine the C drive with one or more of the other partitions, but that would require Partition Magic or similar software.
