WebJunction recently concluded focus groups in a few select libraries that participated in Round 2 of the Spanish Language Outreach program. The participants in the focus groups were Spanish-speaking library patrons. They shared a number of ideas and concerns about using their local library. The Project LIFT (Literacy Involves Families Together) youth outreach program empowers youth to utilize diverse cultural strengths that apply to literacy skill building helping to unifying family generations as they promote reading with their children and learn about what their community libraries offer. Come learn about Oklahoma's successful Siga Adelante program (http://webjunction.org/do/DisplayContent?id=18853), developed by six Oklahoma public libraries in partership with their state library to provide free workshops on family literacy, health, and citizenship to their local Spanish speaking communities.
