Spanish Language Outreach Update May Webinar: Feria Internacional del Libro: Getting the Most Out of the Guadalajara Book Fair Join us for the next one hour Spanish Outreach - In Depth webinar on May 8, 10:00-11:00 AM PT/ 1:00-2:00 PM ET Are you responsible for choosing Spanish Language materials for your library? If so, Feria Internacional del Libro (FIL), the annual international book fair held in Guadalajara each year, is the place for you! ALA will once again sponsor scholarships to help cover FIL costs (3 nights hotel and $100 toward airfare). Trejo Foster Foundation Institute WebJunction is proud to be one of the sponsors of 2007 Trejo Foster Foundation Institute to be held July 12 – 14 on the campus of the University of Arizona. Librarians, information specialists, health educators and health professionals serving Hispanics and Latinos are invited to register for the this event. The bi-annual Institute brings together leaders, practitioners and students in the library and information fields to discuss and advocate for issues, policies and practices that affect Hispanic Latino communities and individuals. The 2007 Institute will focus on creating awareness of information resources related to the health issues of Hispanics and Latinos, showcasing best practices in libraries and information centers, and providing librarians, health information specialists and healthcare providers with the knowledge to improve services and health care. Topics presented over the two-day Institute range from social, historical and cultural influences on the health status of Hispanics in the U.S., to funding sources, research and community outreach.
