Follow-Up Activities - Share Your Ideas
4:58 PM EST 11/15/07
I'm busy getting ready for our first workshop and wondered what those of you have done already or plan to do in the "Follow-Up" area. There are local participant expectations at this link: http://webjunction.org/do/DisplayContent?id=8127 What are you doing to promote follow-through on these?
I was thinking of creating a discussion in the Workshop Participant Outreach Plans and Feedback Area http://webjunction.org/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=181 called "Location, PA - Workshop Shout Outs" (stealing what others have done) for each workshop. Here workshop participants can post about their community leader interviews, their outreach activities and other stuff. We would need to moderate and stay on top of the discussion so people aren't left flapping in the breeze (much like Laura, Emily, Zola and the other awesome WJ folks do for us in the Trainers' forums) I can stress how to get to this area during the WJ demo section of the workshop.
If we had the money, I'd love to offer incentives to get participation, like first outreach activity that has been completed from each workshop wins a prize based on who posted to WJ first, something like that, but I think our budget is too tight for that, so I'll just do a lot of positive feedback :-)
We are also planning on doing a webinar in July 2008, but still brainstorming ideas of what to do in the webinar. Probably highlight the most outstanding program or change in library to date, possibly have a guest speaker - that kind of thing.
So, that's how my wheels are turning, but I love getting ideas from collective wisdom so PLEASE SHARE what you guys are doing/have done.
Thanks! Stephanie Zimmerman (PA)
