Definitions of Social Learning   
Social Learning comes in all flavors so here are a few definitions to focus the topic.

Social Learning: the cognitive process of learning is augmented and enhanced by social interactions; observation, imitation, and modeling are key processes.

“Our understanding of content is socially constructed through conversations about that content and through grounded interactions around problems or actions.”(John Seely Brown)

Serendipitous: the phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for.

Targeted serendipity: a focused finding of valuable or agreeable things not predetermined.

Designed: somethng devised for a specific function or end.

"Design a social learning experience, utilizing a new or existing social network - with key activities and specific learning or behavioral outcomes. There may be high levels of facilitation in the Designed Social Learning experience, with follow-up messaging and assignments originating from the instructor as the activity proceeds."
