We just finished our FIRST workshop in Arkansas. It was a great success and the pictures can be viewed following the link in the attached file.
Arkansas's information officer took pictures of the attendees with the state librarian. This way the library can use the pictures for any publicity in local newspapers.
Kay and I developed a sub-theme for Arkansas - "Putting the Pieces Together" and used jigsaw puzzle pieces throughout our materials. We printed Thank You notes for the acknowledgement section using the attached graphics on a notecard template.
One of the ice breaker type activities was having 24-piece jisaw puzzles. Each participant was given an envelope with 6 jigsaw pieces and a color on the front of the envelope. All the people with the BLUE envelopes sat together and had to "put the pieces together" with cooperation of the other people in the blue group.
Kay and I are making some minor changes in the timing so we can spend more time on the continuum and action plans. Our participants really liked meeting and visiting with other people from across Arkansas. We were able to have everyone in front of a computer during the WebJunction portion. They all registered and seemed to really like WebJunction.
We will post more later.
