Re: Reading/Book Blogs

as a reply to Carol Kubala.
I'm certain we all have our favorite group of library blogs, those that excite us about books and reading. I added two new ones to my list this week. Recently announced on fiction_l, The Seattle Public Library's Shelf Talk is defiantly worth taking a look. I've only been signed up for its rss feed for the past 3 days but I find myself looking forward to the next entry. Recent posts include a snatches of conversation about sure fire hits, National Outdoor Book Awards, sleuthing for a good mystery, gardening, suggestions what to read or watch now that The Wire is over. Not only informative, the brief entries highlight the collection. David Wright, Fiction Dept. says the blog is in the early stages. I can't wait to see how this one develops.
Right on the heals of Seattle's Shelf Talk, Morton Grove Public Library, Morton Grove, IL announced it's own new blog, By The Book. Described as "The By the Book blog is a one-stop shop for book lovers", it appears it will live up to the claim. Featuring a quick entry, each tells about a book or service you can find at the library. Less discussion than Shelf Talk but pure book talk makes this an easy addition for me. The ability to add it to google reader ensures I can read it easily at my leisure.
Hats off to Morton Grove and Seattle Public Libraries for their fine efforts.
