"As Seen on TV" Display Ideas

I'm looking for some ideas about how to set up a display for books that are popular due to their appearances on the Today Show, Oprah, etc. Rather than just using a sign to indicate this, does anyone have any feasible ideas for my nonartistic self to try? (The only thing I can think of is someone incorporating an old tv...but the space issues for that wouldn't make it too workable.)

I've never really designed displays short of attaching a colorful sign, so I'd like to add more "props" to displays (if possible) to generate more interest. Thanks for any help in getting me started!

Hmmm, I'm thinking about props for this display but coming up empty. You mentioned signs, sometimes that's all that's needed. I have used TV's in displays. They work well and don't take up too much space.

Here's an idea which you might be able to use or maybe someone else can expand on it.

How about Talk Show Hosts With <b>Novel</b> Ideas as the title with a background poster (maybe one of those tri-fold kind) of pictures of Oprah, Dr. Phil, etc. and then the display of the books suggested by these hosts standing in front. This could be used with your title "as Seen on Tv" just as easily. I'm at a loss for other props.

Another thought is the theme "I Read it from a Talk Show" or "I Heard it On a Talk Show" , kind of like I heard it through the grapevine. Still no props come to mind.

How 'bout a bunch of remotes! You could use VCR, TV, DVD, radio remotes, etc...they will never know. Then you could make bookmarks in the shape of a remote, maybe draw some buttons on like play and volumn then add a list of the books on your display?

Themes could be "Don't Change that Channel!" or "Surf the Latest!"

Ew, this sounds like fun and I just might help myself to y'all's ideas. emoticon

Why not take a cardboard box (or part of one) to a make a frame that looks like the front of a television set and use that to highlight one or more of the books? You could incorporate the remotes and even make a "TV guide" of when the different books will be featured on different shows.
