book discussion groups for men
11:58 AM EDT 3/17/08
Does anyone know of a library that is having success with a male oriented book discussion group? I am particularly interested in examples of adult groups, but would also appreciate info on children's and teen's groups.

as a reply to Megan Doyle.
We have a book group that currently meets at Princeton Public Library called "Talking Politics" and it attracts an equal mix of men and women. Here is the description:
Talking Politics This discussion group is for people who enjoy reading and talking about politics. Joan Goldstein, sociologist, author, and professor at Mercer County Community College, will provide overviews, suggest discussion questions and mention pertinent further readings.
Some of the recent books discussed by this group include: Al Gore, The Assault on Reason. Barack Obama, Dreams from my Father: A story of Race and Inheritance. Lou Dobbs, War on the Middle Class. Arrogance: Rescuing America From the Media Elite by Bernard Goldberg
In the past we had a successful Non-fiction book group that met for several years moderated by two librarians who were on staff. This group also attracted men and women in equal meaure.
I would love to hear about a book group that someone has marketed just for men... surely one must exist!
