In the fall of 2009, WebJunction was awarded a National Leadership Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to look at online patron instruction in public libraries.

Together with our partners at the San Francisco Public Library we have completed the following activities.

A national survey of public libraries to get a snapshot of patron instruction programs, with published results of the survey.
An assessment of the most urgent patron needs as well as staff interests at the San Francisco Public Library.
Designed and launched pilot online course at the San Francisco Public Library.
Made the course creation details and the actual course available for download via WebJunction.org.
