Funding Source

Funds are available from the  The Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through a program called the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). IMLS awards grants to states who have had a Five-Year Plan approved by them. Pennsylvania's LSTA Five-Year Plan includes goals which allow the Office of Commonwealth Libraries to assist libraries in linking to each other or to other information resources, to encourage the development of consortia, and to increase information access for persons who have difficulty gaining it.

Application Information: 

Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds are available from the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).  Pennsylvania’s LSTA Five-Year Plan includes goals which allow the Office of Commonwealth Libraries to use LSTA funds to assist libraries in linking to each other or to other information resources, to encourage the development of consortia, and to increase access to information for persons who have difficulty gaining it.

LSTA grant applications become available to all types of libraries and library agencies in the spring.  They are completed online and submitted via the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s eGrant website to the Bureau of Library Development.  Visit LSTA program in Pennsylvania for more information.
