Continuing Education

Commonwealth Libraries sponsors a variety of continuing education opportunities each year to help those responsible for library service develop their skills and learn new approaches.

Workshops and conferences cover such topics as collection development, library management and library services to targeted groups (children, older adults, persons with disabilities, the business community, and others).

The Office of Commonwealth Libraries also makes grants available for regions to offer special institutes for public library trustees.

Continuing education assistance is available to defray the costs of workshops and seminars that are not part of formal degree work. Full-time staff members from all types of libraries and public library trustees are eligible to apply for these funds.
