Training and Professional Development experiences are vital for all library staff in order for libraries to deliver the very best patron centered services. WebJunction Ohio includes many opportunities for staff to learn and grow within an online community. By working in collaboration with other library organizations, the State Library of Ohio provides a variety of training and development resources through WebJunction Ohio.
There are two aspects of training and professional development for librarians- training librarians to assist patrons and training librarians to be better librarians. This page provides information pertaining to both aspects of library training.

The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce that the Illinois State Library has received a $470,000 Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to expand ILEAD U nationwide. Next year, ILEAD U becomes ILEAD USA. Twenty-eight five-member teams in Illinois, Colorado, Iowa, Ohio, and Utah will attend three three-day, in-person sessions over the course of nine months.

This course offers some tips on using the advanced searching features in Google including Google Scholar and Google Maps for efficient and effective searching. Additionally, it will cover setting up Google Alerts and using Google Reader to easily retrieve those results.
