Interesting, Informative, & Special!

Special Libraries in Illinois are much more than special, they're unique and diverse! Special librarians serve in organizations as varied as museums, corporations, law firms, hospitals, goverment agencies, associations, and non-profits.

Not all libraries look the same! Library environments vary from small print-based collections in single offices to networked virtual collections for multiple international offices. Special libraries can be staffed by a solo librarian or a large team. Although they may not look like traditional libraries, their mission is the same - to provide access to information and knowledge to all members of their organizations.
