Library Broadband Connections
- Broadband Calculator - this online calculator allows real-time simulation of bandwidth needs based on input related to workstations counts and activity
- Inventory of Broadband Connections and ICN MRTG - broadband circuit information collected in Spring, 2009 through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was loaded into L2. This data has been extended and is available for libraries to maintain. Circuits provided by ICN allow mointoring through MRTG (Multi Router Traffic Grapher) to view traffic use patterns over daily, weekly, monthly and yearly cycles.
- Help and Resources - through the WebJunction Illinois wiki, additional tipsheets, definitions, and bandwidth management information is available.
- Discussions & Documents - through WJIL, we encourage other libraries to share information on bandwidth management and provision of Internet services, library case studies, and support through discussions. Please support this online community by participating in these discussions and loading documents for other libraries.
Funding for this grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library (ISL), a Division of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), under the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA)
