Southside 2.0
NAME OF PUBLIC GOOD
NIBIRU: *Not* the end of the world, just teens in transition.
VISION
The Southside 2.0 professional library team demonstrates an ethic of service from a perspective a social responsibility by offering a web-based public good for young adults (ages 15-24) and their advocates, who, through co-ownership of “NIBIRU,” can realize their fullest potential as citizens participating in a global democratic society.
MISSION
Through NIBIRU, our interactive online communication and informational resource, the Southside 2.0 professional library team will help build the infrastructure needed to serve young adults (ages 15-24) as they consider their choices for higher education and /or employment. Our online service brings ideas, resources, people, and institutions together, to help guarantee success for our young people as they transition into adulthood. It exists to effectively bridge young people across communities. Young adults begin to realize that they can be important resources for one another, help each other feel confident about making decisions, and build an important support network together.
