Error messages when visiting specific sites
1:46 PM EDT 7/24/07
Hello,
We have an issue here on a couple of our Gates machines. We use Windows XP Professional and the Gates PACTool... A few months back we were experiencing problems performing updates on our machines...At the time, I was advised to install Service Pack 2, which I've done on most of the machines. Now on the ones that are completed, I am getting error messages when patron access certain websites. EXAMLPE fidelity.com. Our computers are giving us error messages that say that site wants to shut down. The machines that were not updated do not seem to have this problem. The site seems to load and function properly. Is there something in Service Pack 2 preventing the "all" profile from accessing this site, and more importantly what can I do to fix this?
Just to give you added info, we use the PACtool in addition to Centurion Guard on our computers.
Thank you for your input!

Sue -
It wasn't immediately apparent looking at fidelity.com if it uses Flash, but my first guess for something like this is that it might bee a Flash issue.
You might try first try downloading the latest version of Flash. I don't know with the current version whether you can get away with just installing it in exec, or whether you might also need to unlock the profiles and update it from all as well (in the past this has gone back and forth with different versions).
But the second thing to try anyway is to remove the profile restrictions, log in to all, and browse to a problem site. If you get no error, try replacing the restrictions and trying again.
Although the Gates PAC Security software was created pre-Service Pack 2, there shouldn't be any direct conflict between them that is causing this, more likely it was something in doing the updates.
If the problem still persists, try tracking the sites where the problem occurs. For instance, I notice fidelity.com is a secure site, are the others that cause the error also secure sites?
