License for Gates PC's (Win2000)
10:44 AM EST 1/17/06
I have some Gates Computers we plan to put back out for use which were originally granted Windows NT machines and then upgraded to Windows 2000 as part of the regular upgrade they received from the Gates Foundation. In order to install the necessary information, I will have to format the hard drive. I will then need to reinstall Win2000, but where do I find the Volume License Key? All I can find in my records in the Part # for Win2000. Any help would be much appreciated.

So you have the binder, but it's not printed on the sleave? I could have sworn it was, but I don't have one of those binders anymore. Of course it doesn't come up that often - this is one of the few situations where you actually need it.
Is there anyone else out there in NY, VA, NC, VT, ME, OH, IN, CO or MN who knows where the Windows 2000 CD key is?

The key is printed right on the sleeve for Office 2000, but for the Windows 2000 OS there is no number associated with it.

Call Chris at the Gates Foundation: 1-888-289-8989 (you'll probably have to leave a message and he'll get back to you).
He can get you the CD key.
