Restoring a Gateway E4400 harddrive
6:59 PM EST 1/12/06
I am trying to restore a hard drive on a Gateway 4400. I have the Windows NT 4.0 Workstation backup disk and the Gateway system restoration cds. When I try to load the backup disk, it tells me to partition the hard drive. What do I need to set the partitions at and will this backup disk restore all the games and profiles. If this is not possible, does anyone have a ghost copy of one of these machines. This computer is from the first Gates Foundation Grant in Texas.
Thanks
Cindy

Hi-
No, this is not possible with what you have. You either need to ghost from another Gates Library Computer, or else, if someone else out there in TX (or AZ - same model) has it, get a hold of a Gates Computer Restoration Disk set.
For TX I think this is a 2 disc CD set, with white, laser printed labels. They were not sent out with the computers, they were sent to libraries who's hard drives crashed in about the last year of support through the program.
Anyone out there from TX or AZ have a copy?
