In Gila County the public libraries share one database and a pool of monies that is collected by state law through a secondary tax district "Gila County Library District" There are 8 public libraries that share in this pot. The unincorporated community libraries (there are 3) are run by library boards and get 99.9 per cent of their funding from the District fund. The remaining incorporated communities (4) and one tribal library get half their funding from the District with the other half a match from their city, town, or tribal councils. We currently have Library Service Aggreements in place with all parties. The District uses its share of the funding to run the Polaris Database. We are currently interested in any like situations in the greater libary world that have service agreements in place. We would like to trade information with such in order to update our agreements in the next year.
