OSS equivalent to "Deep Freeze" or other PC refreshing apps?

Does anyone know of the existence of an open source alternative to those applications that can refresh your PC to its original configuration on reboot?

I'm trialling Deep Freeze, but wanted to see if there was a cheaper alternative that was comparably easy to implement...

Not exactly "open source," but probably does everything you are looking for, including locked down profiles, refreshing, and time management.

They should be releasing the 1.0 version any day now, but you can take a look at the beta.

My IT department won't let me upgrade to SP2, due to firewall clashes, but otherwsie I would've gone with it!

Really? that's odd. I can understand that they might not want the Windows firewall turned on, and it is on by default after installing SP2, but you just have to turn it off.
