Can you tell me about the advantages of library interactive kiosks? My search has uncovered a ton of anti-kiosk material. Are there any new improved kiosks?

Liz, hey! I'm curious about this too. What research did you do to get started? I'm just curious about what you found in terms of 'no' and why people think it's a bad idea...

I'm interested in the general topic.

I'm hoping to put a computer in the town halls of the two largest villages we serve -- part of a virtual network. My reasons are: 1) locals would not have to drive or own a computer to access what the library has to offer and 2) it's a good way to "suck up" to the mayors. ;-)

LB: will you be "branding" the station so that everyone knows it's a service of the library system? Sounds great! Let us know how it works out...

Yes ... very much a branding thing, but not likely to be done this fiscal year. I want a couple of WiFi antenna first.
