PolyTalk Project

PolyTalk is a volunteer network of bilingual interpreters willing to be contacted by telephone to provide real time interpretation on request by staff of Illinois libraries. The project has developed a helpful Language Kit to help library staff bridge the lanugage gap. The kit offers quick answers to the informational and directional questions visitors ask most. The Language Kit enables librarians and patrons to work through a series of picture and bilingual cards using a point-and-read system.  To see how the kit works, check out this video by the folks at PolyTalk. You can also learn more about PolyTalk by viewing WebJunction's Spanish Language Outreach February 2007 Webinar Archive.
