A site offering Spanish language parent-child early literacy activities and materials, supported by a grant from the US Dept. of Education/Office of Special Education Programs and Washington Learning Systems. To download materials go to the site and click on the purple button that says "Free Parent Education Handouts" on the home page. Quick Time video "Talking and Books" also available in Spanish, English, and Vietnamese on strategies for developing early literacy.

This study explores the demographic characteristics of recent immigrants to California who arrived in the United States between 1991 and 2000. Data includes their region of origin, age at arrival, geographic concentration throughout California, share of the state?s population, family composition, educational attainment, hourly wages, poverty rates, employment, rates of home ownership, and English language ability.
