| Library Law: ADA Amendments Act of 2008 |
Most libraries with 15 or more employees have general policies regarding the ADA, and, as a result, libraries probably do not need to make significant changes to library policies. It is important, however, to be aware of the changes in the law because they significantly impact how libraries and all other employers analyze whether an individual has a disability for purposes of the ADA and whether a reasonable accommodation should be provided to the individual. This update is intended to provide a summary of the Act and explanation of the changes in the law.
