Library Law: ADA Amendments Act of 2008
Most libraries with 15 or more employees have general policies regarding the ADA, and, as a result, libraries probably do not need to make significant changes to library policies. It is important, however, to be aware of the changes in the law because they significantly impact how libraries and all other employers analyze whether an individual has a disability for purposes of the ADA and whether a reasonable accommodation should be provided to the individual. This update is intended to provide a summary of the Act and explanation of the changes in the law.

Library Law: Child Online Protection Act Ruled Unconstitutional (Again)
After nearly 10 years of litigation, including three appeals to the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (with jurisdiction in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey) and two appeals to the US Supreme Court, and a trial on the merits, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals on July 22, 2008 ruled that the Child Online Protection Act (frequently referred to by its acronym: "COPA") suffers from a number of flaws that render it unconstitutional under the First Amendment
