Physically Securing Thin Clients
11:17 AM EST 3/23/05
I know more and more libraries are using Thin Clients for various uses.

We will soon be using them, mostly for PACs.

Call me the pessimist, but with the small size of these things, I worry that they may grow legs and walk out of the building in a bookbag or something.

The model we purchased has a means of being locked down with the addition of a (very expensive) locking cable.

I was curious if anyone had any tips they could offer?

Thanks,

Chad

Hmm. Chad, good question (and nice to see you!). I'm seeing if I can drum up an answer for you from folks in the thin-client know.

We went ahead and purchased locking cables for the ones that are "out of sigh" of staff.

We got lucky and found a vendor trying to move the last few they had and caught a nice price break.
