In the tangible, print side of depository libraries, items are arranged by the SuDoc (Superintendent of Documents) classification
scheme, sorting items by agency.
The new electronic world has moved many government information documents and products to an online environment, both to reduce
paper use, and to provide enhanced, 24/7 access to these information products. It's no longer necessary to be a depository
library to have access to the information, nor is it necessary to sort these items by agency - they can be found via online
indexing and search tools, directories, or through other mediated tools, such as through this project.
The depth and breadth of government information is large and growing every day. The goal of this project, to share information
in selected topic areas, can help librarians and users support their customers' information needs.
This module focuses on sources which are so broad that they cannot be limited to one subject area. They're also great, all-purpose
starting places for a government information quest.
