The AFDC provides information about alternative fuels and the vehicles that use them. Alternative fuels include ethanol, natural gas, propane, hydrogen, biodiesel, electricity, methanol, and p-series fuels. 
"This site has more than 3,000 documents in its database, an interactive fuel station mapping system, current listings of available alternative fuel vehicles, and lots of alternative fuels information and related links."
"The AFDC contains a wide range of research documents and associated outreach materials—technical reports, brochures, newsletters, and press releases—produced by government, industry, and academic sources. Among the contributors are the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Transportation, Environmental Protection Agency, trade associations, professional societies, auto manufacturers, fuel providers, and universities."

This is the U.S. Department of Energy agency responsible for keeping statistics.  This section of EIA provides statistics and statistical reports relating to renewable energy and alternative fuels.

This section of the U.S. Department of Energy's web site provides information about renewable energy sources as well as links to related resources (e.g. Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy web site). 

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) at http://www.nrel.gov/

NREL is a national laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.  NREL's mission: "NREL develops renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and practices, advances related science and engineering, and transfers knowledge and innovations to address the nation's energy and environmental goals."

This site contains information about energy conservation for your home, business, vehicle, or industry plant.  Energysavers.gov also "provides information on the Partnerships for Home Energy Efficiency (PHEE). This joint effort of the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is a Federal agency collaboration to help improve the energy efficiency in your housing choices." 

Fuel Economy at http://www.fueleconomy.gov/

Fueleconomy.gov is a collaboration of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  This site provides a variety of information about fuel economy, types of fuels, gasoline prices, types of vehicles (including hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles), and related technologies.  Additionally, some information about the environmental effects of fuel economy, as well as taxes associated with high and low fuel economy, is provided.
