This web page guides training session/workshop attendees through the basic resources related to demographic information.

 

Workshop Objectives [5 minutes]

  • Understand what is demographic information and where to find it
  • Know how to use the main Census Bureau demographic database American Factfinder, and
  • Have hands-on experience finding information in American Factfinder.

 

What is Demographic Information? [10 minutes]

  • The characteristics that define a population
  • Can include age, sex, ethnicity, race, ancestry, marital status, occupation, income, and education
  • Usually limited to a geographic area.
