Immigration Courts Nationwide

Executive Office for Immigration Review
The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) was created on January 9, 1983, through an internal Department of Justice (DOJ) reorganization which combined the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA or Board) with the Immigration Judge function previously performed by the former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) (now part of the Department of Homeland Security). Besides establishing the EOIR as a separate agency within DOJ, this reorganization made the Immigration Courts independent of INS, the agency charged with enforcement of Federal immigration laws.

It is responsible for identifying and shutting down vulnerabilities in the Nation's border and for economic, transportation, and infrastructure security. The section on international students provides detailed statistics for students studying in the U.S. and other exchange visitors by state, name of institution, country of origin, and academic discipline. Public information includes fact sheets, speeches, and information on "topics of interest" such as child exploitation, cyber crimes, gangs, human trafficking, immigration enforcement, and much more.

USCIS is a federal agency focusing on recent immigrants becoming permanent residents and the formal naturalization process.
