WebJunction Needs Your Pictures!
6:52 PM EST 3/1/07
Have you noticed we have been adding spiffy new images to the WJ site since the refresh? Do you have any idea how much these pictures cost?! It is amazing! Besides, we know lots and lots of us have some good library pictures you would like to share, so here's the deal:

Please use this discussion thread to add pictures that you would be willing to have us use on the WebJunction web site *or* in the WebJunction newsletter. When you respond to the topic, under the text box there is a button that lets you add an attachment. Simply click that button and start adding your pictures! It's that easy. If you could add little bits of descriptive info that would be appreciated, but surely isn't required.

Pictures of libraries, library staff, librariana, computers, and technology, pretty much anything you think might be useful as an image on the WebJunction site or in the WebJunction newsletter, we want 'em!

While we aren't primarily after you cute puppy or kitty pictures here, if you can't resist sharing those, we are happy to see (and maybe use) them as well.

I'm going to add a few pictures to get things rolling. Won't you please do the same? Thanks very much and have fun with this!

Alabamiana Library shot taken last month during a site visit.

Hamilton Library Stacks are in the Univ. of Hawaii's Hamilton Library. Taken in 2006.

Happy Fruit Grass shot in my back yard last year. Seemed like a pic that could be of general use at some point. Was in the OCLC calendar this year too (I'm so proud!emoticon

Librarian Jacket. An older pic, shot on the road with BMGF, in 2001 I believe.

Library Street sign taken in Gibraltor in 2003.

Fastest Internet In Samoa shot taken in 2005 in Apia, Western Samoa.

My Puppy: Couldn't resist adding this. Too cute.

Pasadena PL image taken in 2005. Deep in the stacks!

Red Wall Black Shot shot in the Columbus, UH airport in 2004.

That's Hot: shot in my kitchen. Turn on the stove, set the exposure to long, turn off the lights, sprinkle pepper over the flames out of the picture frame. Repeat 20 times, get one pretty decent image WebJunction might be able to use for something related to the theme of "hot"?

Jeff, these are GREAT! Thanks! Would you by any chance have a higher resolution version of the last shot (the one of the woman at the workstation with the two kids?). Thanks very much, they are all great!

Here are two photos from the Garfield County Public Library District in Colorado.

The first one is a photo of some patrons at our Silt Branch using the public access computers and the second one is of our first patron to use our new Wireless at our New Castle Branch.

No, I had to scan it from her Political Poster. Sorry, that is the best I can do.

This is Northglenn Reads! our Third Thursday bookclub at Rangeview Library District--Northglenn.
Here we are trying to lure Sandra Dallas to our meeting by creating a celebrity quilt, just like in the Persian Pickle Club. Sadly for us but hooray for her, she missed our meeting in favor of the Women Writing the West meeting in Colorado Springs where she received a top award. The book club has grown from 4 to 18 and I'm hoping to be 2 bookclubs soon.

I have tons of pictures on my Flickr site that you could use:

I guess you would like us to sort through them all first though...emoticon
Most of the best library shots are tagged "imaginon"

Don't forget to look at the Free Use Photos pool too! There are some great shots there. http://www.flickr.com/groups/freeuse/
